Here's a game for your next quiz night: take four of your competitors' web sites, remove the firms' names and see if anyone can allocate the right name to the right firm. If you are really brave, try putting your own firm's site in as well and see if anyone gets it right!

The truth is, many firms' brand communications are completely undifferentiated. But ask people what these firms are like to work in, or ask clients what they are like to deal with, and you will get very different impressions. Somehow though, these differences fail to filter through clearly in the brand.

We have helped a number of firms to more clearly understand their client and market perception and simultaneously explored how partners and staff view their firm, to gain a much clearer picture of the firm's distinctive characteristics. This view can then be used to inform communications - both internal and external. In one case, our client decided a rebranding exercise was needed and we helped to develop a creative brief for an agency.
